Mixed Oil Pickle (Olive Oil)
Ghar ke mixed achar ka asli maza — a classic medley of seasonal vegetables (mango, carrot, lemon, green chilli) slow-cured with whole spices, exactly the way Shikarpur has made it for over a century. Every spoonful is a different bite: tangy mango here, crunchy carrot there, a slow-burning chilli when you least expect it.
Ingredients
Seasonal vegetables (raw mango, carrot, lemon, green chilli, turnip), pure olive oil, salt, red chilli, turmeric, fennel (saunf), nigella (kalonji), fenugreek (methi dana), mustard seeds.
Why olive oil?
Most commercial achar is made with cheap blended oils. We cure this recipe in pure olive oil — lighter on the stomach, lower in saturated fat, and it lets the spices speak instead of drowning them. If you love achar but your doctor doesn't love your cooking oil, this is the jar for you.
How to serve it
Daal-chawal ka soulmate; alongside biryani; with paratha at breakfast; a spoonful of the masala oil drizzled over plain rice.
Which size?
500gm is right for trying a new flavour or a 1–2 person home. 800gm is the family jar — better value per gram, ideal if achar is on your table at every meal.
Storage & shelf life
Unopened: 12 months from the packing date printed on the jar. After opening: keep the lid tight, always use a dry spoon, keep the contents pressed under the oil, and store in a cool, dry place — best within 3 months of opening. Refrigeration is not required but extends freshness.
Our promise
No artificial colours, no synthetic preservatives — preserved the traditional way with salt, oil and spices. Contains mustard seeds; prepared in a facility that also processes mustard and other spices. Every batch is made in small quantities in Shikarpur, Sindh — Pakistan's home of achar.
